About

If you've ever visited a trade show you will understand why Shell-Clad is so important!

Generally you will see row upon row of shell schemes, sometimes hundreds, and they are all exactly the same, ie white, grey or black cubicles. For your exhibition presence to be a success, you absolutely have to find some way of making your shell scheme stand out from those all around you.

And that was the problem - there was no affordable way of being different. So people used pop-ups, banners and posters, just like all their neighbours... and they all continued to look the same. We've been there and we know how it feels. It hurts!

So, Shell-Clad is a product born out of frustration, the frustration of having great ideas but not being able to implement them. Now, using Shell-Clad, our clients can be exactly what they've always wanted to be - different!

What we do for exhibitors

We supply ready to install Shell-Clad stands. By this we mean that we provide you with high quality printed graphics and all the necessary Shell-Clad fixings required to attach your graphics to your shell scheme. Individual Shell-Clad fixings/clips only take a few seconds to fit, so you can prepare your stand for graphics in a matter of minutes.

The graphics themselves are printed on a variety of substrates. Hanging these panels is similar to hanging wall paper other than we use velcro rather than wall paper paste and you can remove them and re-use them many, many times.

Design: We can design your stand graphics for you (and are happy to quote for this service) or we can provide artwork guidelines to your regular agency so that they can supply us with artwork on your behalf. All artwork is checked prior to printing.

What our stands look like

Our stands look absolutely fantastic; so much so that you would be forgiven for refusing to believe that
the stand shown opposite is absolutely bog standard shell scheme that has been clad with Shell-Clad.
The really remarkable thing is that it is so easy to do, so not only do our stands “stand out” but they
are easy too!

What is shell scheme

The vast majority of Exhibitions in Australia feature standard shell scheme
structures supplied by manufacturers such as Octanorm, Frame lock,
R8 & Syma.

A shell scheme is a booth that is hired to you for the duration of an exhibition or
trade show, from which you can present your company’s range of products and
services. The only alternative to a shell scheme is an “open space” site, in effect
a building plot onto which you can construct (at significant expense) a purpose
designed, bespoke stand.

Shell schemes vary in size enormously and we have worked with all extremes,
ranging froma 3m x 1m corner stand up to a 10m x 6m island stand featuring a
meeting office, a store and two corner “sales cubicles”.

Shell schemes are the backbone of the SME exhibition industry and most trade
shows feature a vast array of these stands, often well over 100.

What are shell scheme rules

Shell scheme booths are used by tens of thousands of companies worldwide as the basis of their exhibition displays, but there is a “sting”!

As these units are only hired to you for the duration of your show, you are governed by very strict rules regarding what you can and cannot do, typically:-

“No additional stand fittings or displays may be fixed to the shell scheme structure. Wall panels and other stand material will be inspected after the exhibition for signs of damage caused, for example: by nailing, drilling, wall papering, velcro, self adhesive tape etc. The cost of cleaning, repairing or replacing of damaged/misused equipment will be charged to the exhibitor”.

By using Shell-Clad, you circumnavigate all these problems in one simple, easy hit!

Why popups don’t work

Pop-ups are an incredibly clever invention and, until the advent of Shell-Clad, they were probably the best way to dress a shell scheme using portable display graphics.

But pop-ups have two big disadvantages when used in a shell scheme environment. 1) They are neither the height nor the width of shell schemes and so do not provide any where near the level of graphics coverage that shell scheme walls offer and 2) The vast majority of pop-ups are curved (to give them stability), so they needlessly absorb swathes of extremely valuable floor space.

Take the 3m x 2m stand format opposite. This is a small shell scheme but it still
provides an impressive 16.8 sqm of wall space whereas a standard “3x3” pop-up
(ie the biggest you could fit in such a space) only delivers c 7.5 sqm of coverage.
So if you dressed this stand with a pop-up, over 50% of your display area would
be wasted. Over 50%!

Furthermore, this same pop-up would absorb some 20% of your floor space ...
all in all, a far from ideal solution.

On the same stand, Shell-Clad would deliver 16.8 sqm of graphics coverage
(ie 100%) and all on a zero “foot print” so there would be no wasted floor space.
